
We have already discussed countless things about Pandemic. Like, what we have learnt during this, what are the major issues we are facing during Lock-down or how our life has witnessed endless changes while this deadly virus is creating huge havoc around the world. Today I want to throw light on some key pointers one has to follow during the recovery from Covid-19.
It may be hard to imagine what it is like to have COVID-19 or a recovery from it unless you or someone you know had been through this. Before moving ahead would like to throw some light on the basic alarming symptoms, where if a quick taken action may save many precious lives and also sack call of severity as well.
Basic Symptoms:-
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Fever
- Coughing
- Shortness of breath
- Extreme Weakness
- Body aches
- Headache
- Loss of Taste/ Smell
- Sore throat
- Nausea
These symptoms may cause on lighter node or for different reasons also, on the basic level when Covid 19 is the primary suspect it is always advisable to watch every bit closely and immediately get in contact of a Medical expert.
Urgent Medical Emergency Required when:
- Trouble breathing
- Unsettling Cough
- Unable to move
- High Fever
Again I repeat These symptoms may cause on lighter node or for different reasons also, on the basic level when Covid 19 is the primary suspect it is always advisable to watch every bit closely and immediately get in contact of a Medical expert.
As per the CDC guidelines
If you have not had a test to determine if you are still contagious, you can leave home after these three things have happened:
- You have had no fever for at least 72 hours (that is three full days of no fever without the use of medicine that reduces fevers) AND
- Other symptoms have improved (for example, when your cough or shortness of breath have improved) AND
- At least 10 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared
If you have had a test to determine if you are still contagious, you can leave home after these three things have happened:
- You no longer have a fever (without the use of medicine that reduces fevers) AND
- Other symptoms have improved (for example, when your cough or shortness of breath have improved) AND
- You received two negative tests in a row, at least 24 hours apart.
People who DID NOT have COVID-19 symptoms, but tested positive and have stayed home (home isolated) can leave home under the following conditions:
If you have not had a test to determine if you are still contagious, you can leave home after these two things have happened:
- At least 10 days have passed since the date of your first positive test AND
- You continue to have no symptoms (no cough or shortness of breath) since the test.
If you have had a test to determine if you are still contagious, you can leave home after:
- You received two negative tests in a row, at least 24 hours apart.

Guidelines To Follow After Recovery From Covid 19:-
Once a person wins the battle with Coronavirus and starts heading towards road to recovery in both the cases whether he got recovered from the hospital or simply by following the home quarantine. Many patients faces prolonged weakness, exercise intolerance and reduced quality of life after an ICU stay, recovery process needs some patience and time mostly depends on whether you have a mild, moderate or severe case of the illness. One is suppose to follow few mandatory guidelines to strengthen his/her immunity also to get back on normal daily life schedule.
- Keep in touch with your Doctor– Once patient is discharged from the hospital keep your doctor updated about your state of recovery as your doctor knows your medical history and can give you the best advice.
- Monitor the Symptoms– Even after from the well recovered phase one must check out the symptoms of not only own self but also of the care taker who was continuously been around you during illness. Once you come out of isolation, monitor their health, watching for any possible signs or symptoms of the Coronavirus. In addition to ask caretaker to follow these guidelines—-
- Wear a face cover when you’re around them.
- Ask them to wear a face cover if they have to go out in public.
- Stay isolated from them as much as possible
3. Stay Hydrated– To replace lost electrolytes which can happen through fever-induced sweating, one must try as much as possible to to keep the body hydrated all the time by taking plenty of water, juices, also try to avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks.
4. Diet Chart– The only source of energy to regain the lost strength i.e. proper food. Follow standard diet meal plan advised by your medical expert that consist ample amount of fruits and veggies. Also keeping in mind things that are easily digestive. Time window matters the most while following any diet.
5. Do not Hurry To Back On Work– Covid Survivor still has a long way to go on the path of recovery due to lingered weakness, that required well taken rest to bring back the damaged immunity into action with the right zest. It is always suggested by the doctors not to return on work or on any activity hastily that can exhaust you in any way. .
6. Bring Yoga/ Exercise in Routine– Very important to recognize the importance of yoga practice to your morning routine, even though if you are not a Gym person who opts for rigorous workout, A simple yoga therapy too works wonder in strengthening the muscles, breathing issues and many more. So one must try the best to practice this as a daily ritual irrespective of his/her age.
