C FOR CHANDNI
We can’t deny whenever we heard the name Chandni, neither movie nor main leads or supporting leads, or any picturization comes to our mind if anything that immediately pops out is only and only the bright face big-eyed face of Bollywood’s first female superstar SRIDEVI, draped in flowing silk chiffon sarees, bindi on forehead, open black shiny hairs, who dances like a dream and moved like a melody, isn’t it? I have a very strong memory of the day when I went to watch this movie with my parents and siblings, mom was eagerly waiting for us to come back home from school, get ready and go for 3:00pm show as I belong to small-town where families weren’t very used to of watching movies in theatres, that doesn’t indicate that we lagged behind from the movie fun, remember that was the era of VCRs, my mom is a die-hard fan of Sridevi. Sorry I am not able to resist myself that even my dancing journey (obviously informal one wink! wink!) has been started with the song “Mere Hathon Mein Nau Nau Choodiyan Hai” and the journey continues till today, hopefully, I will share my dance video someday, however, at this moment take a look of original song no.only.
SYNOPSIS -:
CHANDNI (1989) is a story of a very beautiful, charming, happy going girl named Chandni, who fell in love of a handsome boy Rohit (Rishi Kapoor) whom she met in her friend’s wedding function, both decided to make ready their family to accept their relationship, unfortunately, just after their engagement, Rohit met with an accident while giving lovely surprise to Chandni in the chopper and it ended up by leaving Rohit got paralyzed on his half body. Here, Chandni was blamed by Rohit’s family for all the mishap, But Rohit differs from their opinion he hardly pays heed to their taunts. Chandni tries all her best to be with Rohit as a loving caring partner. Over the course of time, Rohit lost his hope of standing back on his feet again as not much improvement could be witnessed after months. As a result, Rohit doesn’t want to pause Chandni’s life and decided to make her free from the uneven relationship he suddenly changed his behavior from kind to rude towards Chandni, blamed her for his wheelchaired life. Hurt Chandni left Rohit and his city right away for Rohit’s happiness only and started a new life with a new job, this time with no dreams in her eyes, there she met Lalit (Vinod Khanna) her new boss, who started liking Chandni, in a series of events Lalit and Rohit become friends, Lalit got to know about Rohit and Chandni’s connection secretly, although, Chandni was very happy to see fit and fine Rohit, he proposed Chandni to be back in his life but Chandni refuses to go with him as she was committed to Lalit and she doesn’t want to betray an honest soul, Lalit observed her plight and decided to step back to reunite the loving couple.
MY UPSHOTS-:
1). Chandni sowed the seed of dancing in me. again I must mention.
2). The honesty and caring nature of Chandni towards Rohit won’t permit you to take your mind off from her taking all the hatred of Rohit’s family on her, she couldn’t even think of so-called Move-On without Rohit.
3). How circumstances can turn a bubbly girl into a lip sealed, reserved woman, what time can not change is the beauty inside you, it never gets affected with any cruddy or gloomy condition.
4). When you found yourself stuck between love and honesty select the option with which you can live your entire life with pride, if you are honest enough from your part, God will make the way for what your heart says.

How can we forget Chandani. Everytime I watch it, it feels the first time. Sridevi had that charm to create magic. Even after so many years, English-Vinglish had the same magic.

My favourite actress of yesteryear and till date. Apart from the story line Chandni movie had some evergreen songs especially “mere hathon me nau nau chudiyaan “.I had performed so many times during my childhood days on this song. It was nostalgic reading your post.
